 R ONLINE COMPONENT THAT MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE THE START OF THE CLASS. T
 HIS IS INCLUDED IN THE COST OF THE REGISTRATION.
  
 All of our WSI cla
 sses will now include a Weekday class from 4PM-9PM in our classroom at 41
 50 N. Viking Way\, Long Beach. Please see the schedule below for the dates
 
  
 
 Saturday 7:30am to 5:30pm
 Sunday 7:30am to 5:30pm

 Prerequisites to Participate in the Water Safety Instruct
 or Course
 To participate in the Water Safety Instructor course\, you mus
 t:
 * Be at least 16 years of age on or before the last day of the instru
 ctor course.
 * Demonstrate the ability to perform the following swimming
  skills:
 
  Swim the following strokes consistent with American Red Cro
 ss Level 4 stroke performance criteria:
 
 * Front crawl—25 yards
 * 
 Back crawl—25 yards
 * Breaststroke—25 yards
 * Elementary backstrok
 e—25 yards
 * Sidestroke—25 yards
 * Butterfly—15 yards
 
  Main
 tain position on back for 1 minute in deep water (floating or sculling)
 
  Tread water for 1 minute
 
 * Successfully complete the online Orientat
 ion to the Swimming and Water Safety Program. You will be given this in cl
 ass.
 * Successfully demonstrate competency in the Pre-course Session.

 o bring the signature page as evidence that
 you completed the online Ori
 entation to the Swimming and Water Safety Program.

 quirement
 To become certified as a Water Safety instructor\, you must:

  * Successfully complete the online Orientation to the Swimming and Water 
 Safety Program.
 * Successfully complete the Pre-course Session.
 * Atte
 nd and actively participate in all course sessions (including any assigned
  online content).
 * Successfully complete class activities\, including t
 he required practice-teaching assignments.
 * Score a minimum of 80 perce
 nt (40 correct answers our of 50 questions) on the instructor course final
  written exam
